"Animated! Explorations in Moving Pictures," film series curated by Brian Alfred, Wednesdays in April, noon-4 PM Palmer Museum of Art. The series features a group of artists who use animation in very different ways, with very different results. Artists: Kota Ezawa, Jennifer Steinkamp, LoVid, Takagi Masakatsu, Tala Madani, Allison Schulnik, Michael Bell Smith, Hayal Pozanti.

Audacious: Contemporary Artists Speak Out

Brian Alfred's City Sunrise, 2004, will be on exhibition in the Denver Art Museum's reinstallation of the Modern & Contemporary galleries. Audacious: Contemporary Artists Speak Out officially opens to the public February 21, 2016 and will be on view through February 2017.
The artworks included in Audacious seek to invite or even incite conversation about the world around us. Comprised mainly of works in the permanent collection the exhibition is organized around four themes: Self and Other, Ecologies and Exchanges, Threat and Surveillance, and Politics and Geographies. City Sunrise will be part of Threat and Surveillance.
The opening reception for this exhibition will be on February 18th 5:30 - 7:30pm.
